Mechanical Engineering Project Supervisor

Expertise Level: Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct investigations into the viability, design, functionality, and performance of mechanisms, components, and systems.
  2. Plan and oversee projects, including the preparation of material, cost, and timing estimates, reports, and design specifications for machinery and systems.
  3. Draft contract documents and assess tenders for industrial construction or maintenance projects.
  4. Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers while reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
  5. Evaluate business opportunities and formulate strategic plans.
  6. Develop risk management strategies.
  7. Lead and instruct teams.
  8. Oversee a team of 5-10 individuals.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  1. Certified Engineering Technologist (CET)
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP)
  3. Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with a provincial or territorial association.
