About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead our commercial and institutional building projects in Edmonton and surrounding areas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business development, managing client relationships, and overseeing project delivery from preconstruction to post-construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop bid proposals, and negotiate contracts with clients.
  • Preconstruction: Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners, ensure contract negotiations align with project schedules, and execute preconstruction planning activities.
  • Construction: Lead project strategy development, ensure project budgets meet or exceed expectations, and oversee project teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Post-Construction: Ensure project close-out, conduct lessons learned meetings, and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Employee and Talent Management: Lead recruitment efforts, provide coaching and mentoring, and develop high-performance employees to ensure effective project delivery and individual career development.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 20 years of experience in construction, with 10 years in a management leadership role.
  • Track record of successful commercial project management of major building construction projects exceeding $80 million.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Microsoft Projects, Primavera P6, Electronic Document Management, and SAP.
  • Deep expertise in continuous improvement project delivery services and value-added constructability processes.
  • Experience in joint venture partnerships, major bid management, and successful project completion.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, and client satisfaction.
