Transformative Leadership Opportunity in Financial Institutions

AIG is reimagining the way we help customers manage risk, and we're seeking a talented Assistant Vice President to play a key leadership role in driving business growth in Financial Institutions.

As a seasoned underwriter with a minimum of 7 years' experience in Financial Institutions and/or Financial Lines, you'll have the opportunity to lead an underwriting team, drive profitable underwriting results, and mentor and train staff through effective leadership and training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate within Financial Institutions best practices and underwriting guidelines.
  • Produce new business by working with your broker network to source new opportunities.
  • Provide operational excellence to our brokers and clients through a consistent, timely, and proactive approach to underwriting.
  • Assist in the budgeting process on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Help the team achieve the Financial Institutions budget and profitability goals by implementing an effective underwriting process.
  • Lead an underwriting team to drive profitable underwriting results.
  • Mentor and train staff through effective leadership, role modeling, and training programs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in underwriting working in Financial Institutions and/or Financial Lines.
  • Prior management experience would be considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to deliver difficult messages while influencing positive outcomes.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work for yourself and others.
  • Proven ability to network and build relationships.
  • Organized, highly motivated, self-starter who takes responsibility for own performance and demonstrates leadership in their approach to work, training, and knowledge seeking.
  • CIP/FCIP/CRM designation is considered an asset.
