About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Ornamental Metal Worker to join our team at Summa Architectural & Structural Metal Inc. as a Metal Product Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Verification: Verify metal products for accuracy in shapes, sizes, and specifications.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Metal Fabrication: Utilize various techniques to shape metal stock into parts or products, including cutting, bending, rolling, welding, and more.
  • Task Recording: Accurately record completed tasks and maintain a high level of organization.
  • Machinery Operation: Set up and operate metalworking machinery, including drills, lifting devices, overhead cranes, and power presses.
  • Assembly and Welding: Assist in assembling metal parts using welding, soldering, bolting, or riveting methods.
  • Specification Interpretation: Interpret specifications and instructions to ensure accurate product creation.
  • Material Handling: Handle material manually or with equipment like a crane or hoist.
Equipment and Machinery Skills
  • Drilling and Cutting: Proficient in using drills and saws to cut and shape metal.
  • Lifting and Handling: Experienced in using lifting devices and overhead cranes to handle heavy materials.
  • Metal Forming: Skilled in using power presses, punch presses, and other metal forming equipment.
  • Welding and Soldering: Proficient in welding, soldering, and other metal joining techniques.
Work Environment and Requirements
  • Work Environment: Metal product fabrication sector, structural steel fabrication firm.
  • Work Conditions: Keen attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Steel-toed safety boots, personal tools, and ability to lift heavy materials.
