About the Opportunity

The Health Support Aide plays a vital role in the Emergency Department, providing essential support to patients and clients with daily routines of care. This role involves assisting with activities of daily living, such as providing basic care, specimen collection, and other support functions under the guidance of licensed healthcare professionals.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team. To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Grade 12
  • Previous related experience or education is an asset
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures is an asset
  • Previous hospital experience is preferred
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention training is preferred
  • Relevant first aid and first responder training, such as St. John Ambulance, is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients, clients, hospital staff, and the public
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $19.26 - $20.68.
