About the Opportunity
Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health are seeking a skilled Care Team Assistant to join our Primary Health Care team. As a member of our collaborative care team, you will provide direct care and support to patients in our primary health care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to patients based on their needs
- Support communication with patients and families
- Assist with infection prevention and control
- Contribute to mental health and wellness initiatives
- Support safe handling and mobility
- Provide personal care to support procedural interventions
- Reinforce patient and family teaching according to established guidelines
Requirements:
- Completion of Continuing Care Assistant Program
- Provincial Certification with Department of Health and Wellness
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Effective listening and communication skills
- Competencies outlined in the CCA competency framework
- Ability to work in a patient-centered approach
