We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Elm Hurst Inn & Spa. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for coordinating special events, determining food portion sizes and costs, and planning menus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate special events and functions, including buffets and banquets
  • Determine food portion sizes and costs to ensure efficient food preparation and service
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements for events and daily operations
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain inventory levels
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet customer demands
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and special meals for patients as instructed by dietitians or chefs
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
  • Train kitchen staff and helpers in food preparation, cooking, and handling techniques
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain kitchen operations
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure efficient food preparation and service
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Permanent employment
  • 30 hours per week
  • English language proficiency
