About the Role

MGI Construction Corp. is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, clients, and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections and investigations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive safety strategy to minimize risks and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to identify and mitigate potential hazards, and provide training and guidance on safety procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of safety documentation, including hazard assessments and site-specific health and safety requirements.
  • Monitor and report on safety compliance, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures, and provide training to employees on emergency response and evacuation procedures.
Requirements
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation for Construction Projects, WHMIS Regulation, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and COR Internal Auditor.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Experience or knowledge of WCB legislation and claims management.
  • Thorough understanding of OHS Regulations and Codes.
  • Fluency in technology and accompanying programs such as MS Office.
  • Degree or equivalent, and valid certifications such as JHSC Members, NCSO, OHS, and CRSP.
