Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team at Colas Western Canada Inc. in Calgary, AB. As a key member of our Senior Management Team, you will provide strategic HR direction to our leadership team and business units, ensuring alignment with our company's strategy and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of our company's strategic plan, in partnership with senior management and operations management.
  • Develop and implement annual human resources goals, initiatives, and priorities, in alignment with Colas Western Canada Inc.'s strategy.
  • Assess workforce future needs and organizational requirements through succession planning, turnover rate, and demographic analysis.
Talent Acquisition and Management
  • Partner with division leaders on strategic plans and annual plans at the Company level.
  • Translate business needs into short, medium, and long-range workforce plans, in collaboration with the Human Resources Director.
  • Evaluate the alignment of recruitment needs with workforce plans and direct the company's recruitment and selection program.
Employee Development and Engagement
  • Coordinate and facilitate employee development campaigns, including performance management, talent management, and learning and development.
  • Analyze talent evaluation and performance reviews to identify high potentials and high performers, strengths, development needs, and gaps at individual and business levels.
  • Support and coach leadership and operations managers through performance management and talent evaluation cycles.
Labour Relations and Compliance
  • Assist in labour relations with labour unions and be involved in collective bargaining negotiations, as needed.
  • Involved in labour relations meetings and procedures, including standing committees, grievance meetings, arbitration, and mediation.
Requirements
  • A degree or diploma in Business Administration and/or a Human Resources related discipline, with a CPHR designation preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant HR work experience, with at least 5 years in an HR Generalist capacity.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment, with strong labour relations experience and the ability to develop relationships with unions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with HRIS.
