About the Role

Aecon is seeking a highly skilled Immigration and Mobility Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our global mobility team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on US and international immigration and tax laws, as well as relocation services to ensure the successful integration of employees and their families into new countries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on US and international immigration and tax laws
  • Research and analyze visa and work permit requirements
  • Support the preparation of LMIA's and Canadian work permits
  • Liaise between employees, HR, payroll, benefits, tax, and operations to facilitate smooth transitions
  • Manage tax process and filing requirements for employees
  • Conduct research and benchmarking on emerging legislation and best practices
  • Develop and enhance templates, checklists, and policies for cross-border and international projects
  • Provide strategic input into the development of 'best in class' mobility programs and practices
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a field related to personnel management
  • 2-3 years' experience working in immigration, mobility, or human resources
  • Strong understanding of Canadian and/or US immigration laws
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Superior problem-solving skills and attention to detail
