As a federated college of the University of Regina, it specializes in Indigenous knowledge and provides post-secondary education in a culturally supportive setting for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students.

This role involves providing essential maintenance and light custodial services to the facilities of First Nations University of Canada. The individual in this position will be responsible for a range of maintenance and custodial tasks related to building upkeep, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all. Interaction with students, staff, faculty, suppliers, vendors, and building inspectors is a key aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Grade 12 education, with a preference for a class five (5) power engineering certificate or a minimum of Fireman's level certification. A minimum of two years of experience in building maintenance is essential.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be tasked with the following duties:

  • Ensuring the proper functioning of mechanical, electrical, and boiler systems.
  • Maintaining outdoor areas, including lawn care and snow removal, to ensure safety and regular upkeep.
  • Inspecting buildings and structures to assess operational systems and identify malfunctions.
  • Conducting minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
  • Performing light painting and related tasks.
  • Cleaning floor areas daily, including vacuuming and sweeping.
  • Disposing of waste on a daily basis.
  • Identifying stains and utilizing appropriate cleaning agents for removal.

This position operates under the CUPE Collective Bargaining Agreement.
