Job Title: Dean, School of Business and Hospitality

Algonquin College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Dean, School of Business and Hospitality. As a key member of the College's senior leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic and administrative leadership to the School, ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs and services that meet the needs of students, industry, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Academic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the School, ensuring the development and delivery of programs that meet the evolving needs of industry and the community.
  • Financial Planning: Develop and manage the School's budget, ensuring the effective use of fiscal, human, and physical resources.
  • Human Resources: Recruit, select, train, develop, and evaluate staff, ensuring a high level of staff performance and morale.
  • Partnerships and Community Engagement: Develop and maintain partnerships with industry, community, and government organizations to enhance resource availability and promote the School's programs and services.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in business or a related field, PhD preferred.
  • Post-secondary credential in a program associated with the School of Business and Hospitality or professional designation in business.
  • Minimum of 13 years related experience in increasingly responsible roles.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior-level leadership and management experience, with a preference for experience in a post-secondary educational institution.
  • Experience managing personnel in a large, unionized environment.
