Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tax Specialist with a minimum of three seasons of professional tax preparation experience, having processed at least 30 tax returns each year. As a tax expert, you will assist clients in navigating their tax obligations using our advanced software. Your contributions will be vital in fulfilling our mission of enhancing financial well-being globally by offering clear guidance and explanations of tax-related matters.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • At least three seasons of paid experience in tax preparation, with a record of handling a minimum of 30 tax returns annually.
  • Experience in a tax preparation firm or retail environment is mandatory.
  • A college degree is advantageous; candidates with backgrounds in business, finance, accounting, or taxation are preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of tax regulations and familiarity with IRS Form 1040 and associated schedules.
  • Possession of a PTIN is required.
  • Willingness to enhance expertise and pursue tax credentials or certifications; Intuit offers a program for obtaining your EA.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities, with a focus on empathy and building trust.
  • Collaborative mindset to support the accurate and timely preparation of tax returns.
  • Strong research capabilities and proficiency in utilizing online resources for problem-solving.
  • Analytical thinking and effective problem resolution skills.
  • Determination and perseverance in achieving objectives.

Responsibilities

  • This seasonal role involves assisting clients in preparing their tax returns, either by guiding them through the process or fully preparing their returns.
  • Prepare and compile tax returns for clients utilizing our software.
  • Accurately gather, organize, and input client data into federal and state tax returns for review.
  • Engage directly with clients as necessary.
  • Coordinate client meetings and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Provide updates to credentialed tax professionals regarding assigned clients.
  • Assist clients with inquiries related to tax preparation software and tax-related questions.
  • Apply established practices and company policies to address and resolve client inquiries regarding products and tax support.
  • Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, demonstrating deep empathy and understanding.
