Role Summary

What is the opportunity?

As a key member of the RBC Family Office Services team, the Financial Planning Specialist collaborates with advisors to provide tailored, holistic financial strategies for High Net Worth (HNW) clients of RBC Wealth Management. In this role, you will also contribute to business growth, identify opportunities, and drive revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop detailed financial strategies that align with clients' unique requirements in areas such as investment, retirement, tax, risk management, and estate planning.
  2. Customize each financial strategy to address specific client concerns, including holding companies, employee stock options, individual pension plans, retirement compensation agreements, and charitable planning.
  3. Simplify intricate strategies to aid advisors in client interactions.
  4. Collaborate effectively with the Financial Planning Analyst team in crafting financial strategies.
  5. Foster a work environment that encourages innovation, creativity, teamwork, and diversity.
  6. Build robust internal and external networks and referral channels.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Skills

  1. A minimum of five years of experience in tax planning for high net worth individuals.
  2. Five years of relevant experience across all facets of financial planning.
  3. Possession of one or more professional designations in Accounting: CA/CMA/CGA/CPA.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  5. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial planning software such as Conquest or Naviplan.
  7. Capability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Knowledge of the investment and insurance sectors is advantageous.
  2. Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or Financial Planner (F. Pl.) designation for Quebec is a plus.
