Assistant Bar Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Bar Manager to join our team at Araxi, a renowned restaurant in Whistler Village. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for inspiring and developing our staff, while working closely with the management team to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example, demonstrating a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of the job.
  • Assist with overseeing the day-to-day front-of-house operations, ensuring seamless execution of our cocktail and wine program.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of professionalism and hospitality, setting a positive tone for the team.
  • Develop and implement effective staff training and education programs to ensure superior customer service.
  • Actively participate in the mentorship and support of junior team members, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate with the management team to initiate and execute special projects, driving innovation and excellence in our operations.

Requirements:

  • Previous bartending experience in a premium food and beverage operation.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktail mixology programs and experience in developing a cocktail list.
  • Well-organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professionally recognized wine certificate (WSET or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, clientele, suppliers, and partners.
