Job Overview

Barada Development is seeking a skilled Gypsum Board Specialist to join our team. This role involves working in various commercial settings, ensuring high-quality installation and finishing of drywall.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in drywall installation
Work Environment

The position requires working at different locations, often on the road. The job is permanent and involves a standard workweek of 40 hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Oversee and guide other team members during installations.
  • Install metal corner beads to safeguard exterior corners.
  • Construct and fit suspended metal ceiling grids, placing panels to create various ceiling styles.
  • Apply joint compound to fill joints, nail indentations, and cracks using appropriate tools.
  • Finish corners and angles, creating decorative designs as needed.
  • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets accurately.
  • Secure sheets to metal or wooden frameworks.
  • Smooth excess compound and allow it to dry properly.
  • Apply acoustic or texture materials to walls and ceilings.
  • Utilize taping machines to tape joints and embed tape in compound.
  • Install both exterior and interior steel studs.
  • Prepare layouts for walls and ceilings.
  • Estimate project costs and required materials.
  • Work at heights using scaffolding or swing stages.
  • Set up scaffolding and other necessary working platforms.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Physically demanding tasks requiring attention to detail.
  • Capable of handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Tools and Equipment

Applicants must possess their own tools, including a hard hat and steel-toed safety boots.
