Our team is looking to enhance its capabilities with the addition of a biologist who possesses over five years of experience in natural environment assessments, impact evaluations, and the preparation of authorization requests and permits. This individual will take on the role of project coordinator within the Cari Earth & Environment team.

The primary duties will involve overseeing all technical, financial, and personnel aspects of various multidisciplinary projects (transportation, industrial, etc.) for both public and private sector clients.

We provide a flexible hybrid work model, allowing you to work from home and from one of our offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and execute natural environment assessments, environmental impact evaluations, and prepare authorization and permit requests for large-scale projects across diverse environments.
  • Oversee and conduct wildlife and vegetation surveys and delineation of natural habitats as required.
  • Plan and supervise field environmental activities and construction site operations (surveys, monitoring, assessments, etc.).
  • Draft permit and environmental authorization requests and ensure follow-up with relevant governmental bodies for projects of varying types and scales.
  • Review and validate methodologies used and assess deliverables to ensure quality assurance on the work completed.
  • Generate and analyze environmental geomatic data (MapInfo, ArcGis, CAD) in collaboration with our Geomatic Department.
  • Coordinate and oversee human and material resources assigned to projects under their management.
  • Lead and contribute to the preparation of proposals (strategy, work plan, client meetings, budget, etc.), and support the department's business development initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in inventory techniques.
  • Familiarity with applicable municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Skills in project management (staff oversight, schedule and budget tracking, etc.).
  • Experience with municipal, provincial, and federal authorization and permit processes.
  • Fluency in the French language along with strong writing and communication skills.
