Job Summary

The Children's Aid Society of the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Child Welfare department, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive services to children, youth, and families, ensuring their immediate and ongoing safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Develop and implement individualized plans to address the unique needs of each child and family.
  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct thorough assessments to identify risk factors and develop strategies to mitigate harm.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with community partners, including schools, healthcare providers, and other social service agencies, to ensure a coordinated response to the needs of children and families.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all interactions with children, youth, and families, including case notes, reports, and other documentation.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience working in child protection and delivering child protection services.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including children, youth, and families.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of child development, child maltreatment, and family dynamics, as well as relevant legislation and regulations.
