The Laurentian Child and Family Centre is seeking a dedicated Child Development Specialist to enhance the growth and development of young children. This role is pivotal in fostering a nurturing environment that supports children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Design and execute child-care initiatives that encourage holistic development.
- Storytelling and Engagement: Utilize storytelling, music, and interactive activities to captivate children's interest and promote learning.
- Creative Expression: Inspire children to explore their creativity through various artistic mediums.
- Behavioral Guidance: Assist children in developing essential life skills, including proper eating, dressing, and hygiene habits.
- Observation and Reporting: Monitor children's progress and identify any potential learning or behavioral challenges, providing feedback to parents and supervisors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and community service providers to ensure a comprehensive support system for children.
- Health and Safety: Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, adhering to licensing regulations.
- Completion of a College/CEGEP program in Early Childhood Education.
- Relevant certifications, including First Aid and CPR.
- Experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
This position requires a commitment to working in diverse settings, including outdoor environments. The role may involve physical demands such as sitting, standing, and engaging in various activities with children.
