Overview of Daily Responsibilities:


• This role is a highly technical, hands-on position focused on supporting various network infrastructures for performance, reliability, and incident management, while also engaging in operational readiness activities.

• The individual will be responsible for taking on a leadership/advisory role, directly reporting to the Manager of the team, while remaining actively involved in daily operational tasks such as diagnosing and resolving network issues across multiple platforms. This may include participating in on-call rotations during nights and weekends as required.

• The Hosted Services division within IT Operations is responsible for delivering operational support across various technologies, including Network, Servers, SAN, and Data Centre infrastructure. This division is led by an AVP who reports to the VP of Global Service Continuity Operations.

• The Network L2 team, part of the Hosted Services division, is tasked with providing all L2 support for the organization's networking platforms on a global scale. This full-time position will report directly to the IT Network Manager.

• Our team collaborates closely with the L1 – 24/7 operations team and L3/Engineering teams.

• The primary focus of our team is to manage incidents and oversee various operational aspects of our network, which includes vendor management, participation in operational readiness, and engagement in enterprise processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Post-Incident Review. We seek self-motivated individuals who excel in a fast-paced environment and possess strong operational experience.

Key Responsibilities:


• This position is a highly technical, hands-on role supporting various network platforms for performance, reliability, and incident management, while also engaging in operational readiness tasks.

• The individual will be accountable for a leadership/advisory role, reporting directly to the Manager of the team, while also being actively involved in daily operational work such as troubleshooting and resolving network issues across all platforms.

• This may include participating in on-call rotations during nights and weekends as needed.

Essential Qualifications:


• Strong leadership capabilities in resolving complex incidents promptly and articulating technical challenges clearly to senior management.

• Proficient in utilizing automation and advanced network management tools to efficiently resolve incidents.

• Dependable, innovative, accountable, passionate, transparent, and collaborative.

• Extensive knowledge of networking technologies and platforms, including Cloud, SD-WAN, Wireless, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Routing and Switching, QoS, VoIP, Optical, Monitoring Tools, DHCP, DNS, and CDN. Familiarity with new technologies like ACI and DNAC is advantageous.

• The ideal candidate will be an expert tier-3 network troubleshooter with the ability to quickly identify issues and propose effective solutions.

• Proficient in analyzing network traces to promptly identify root causes.

Experience Required:


• A minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience with Wireless technologies (e.g., Aruba, Airwave, RF survey tools, ClearPass, Wireless authentication).

• At least 8+ years of solid hands-on experience in Routing/Switching technology, Firewalls, Load Balancing, and trace analysis/protocols.

• Experience in supporting a large and complex network environment.

• Experience in exploring and implementing automation for proactive monitoring and reducing incident resolution time.

• Flexibility with on-call duties and shift timings.

• Adequate knowledge and experience to support platforms like Cloud, SD-WAN, Wireless, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Routing and Switching, QoS, VoIP, Optical, DHCP, DNS, Monitoring Tools, CDN, etc.

Skills Required:


• Experience in network and security management, configuration, and testing.

• Knowledge of networking support technologies such as Checkpoint, PIX, and Proxy.

• Familiarity with operating systems such as UNIX/AIX.

• Understanding of routers, switches, and LAN protocols (TCP/IP, ISDN, etc.).

Must-Have Qualifications:


• Expertise in network troubleshooting and advanced complex network issues.

• Comprehensive knowledge across various network platforms (load balancing, wireless, firewalls, switching).

• Ability to analyze network traces and identify root causes.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Knowledge of ITIL processes and certifications.

• Experience in large banking or financial institutions.

• Skills and experience related to VOIP.

• Operations work environment experience, including break-fix, new applications, incident, and change management.

• Possession of recognized trade certifications in wireless, CCIE, Cloud, Management, firewall, load balancers, and ITIL certifications is a definite asset.

• Experience in large banking or financial institutions is a valuable addition.
