Job Overview

The Culinary Services Supervisor plays a pivotal role in assisting the Manager on duty with the orchestration of team activities within the dining services department, ensuring the highest standards of customer satisfaction are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Shift Managers in overseeing the food service unit.
  • Facilitate cash handling processes, manage team members, and provide training to new employees.
  • Assist in organizing catering events.
  • Guarantee that the service area is adequately stocked and ready for meal times.
  • Learn from and aid the Shift Manager in addressing labor relations matters, as well as tracking weekly inventory, labor, and food expenses.
  • Maintain strict adherence to our Health and Safety Program, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and WHMIS regulations.
  • Coordinate regular workplace inspections and WHMIS training for all personnel, promptly reporting any workplace incidents to the head office.
  • Ensure compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards throughout the food preparation process.
Qualifications

To excel as a Culinary Services Supervisor, candidates should possess the following:

  • A minimum of two years of substantial management experience in the food service industry.
  • Experience with Tim Hortons is considered an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge and training in health and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with food service catering operations.
  • Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to inspire and guide staff.
  • Experience in employee relations within a unionized setting is advantageous.
  • Exceptional customer service capabilities.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Certification as a Food Handler.
