Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our Buildings practice, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative and sustainable building solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of integrated design proposals and building information models.
  • Coordinate building systems to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
  • Implement sustainable design principles into the design and environment.
  • Conceptualize building designs from both a functional and aesthetic perspective.
  • Participate in design critiques and pin-ups.
  • Interpret and apply building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various architectural phases.
  • Evaluate and select building systems and materials.
  • Assist in the preparation of project specifications.
  • Participate in constructability review.
  • Participate in bidding and negotiation phase.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals.
  • Lead project coordination and meetings.
  • Participate in client project requirement meetings.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects.

Qualifications

  • Ability to engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Detailed understanding of all phases of architectural document production.
  • Knowledge of building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work and manage team to meet project budget and schedule.
  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and recent modeling software.

Education and Experience

  • Professional degree in Architecture or related field & Registered Architect.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.

Work Environment

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
