Job Summary
PTL Global Services is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for the placement, smoothing, and final finish of poured concrete.
Key Responsibilities
- Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
- Filling hollows and removing high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete.
- Operating power vibrators to compact concrete.
- Leveling top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications using straightedges or floats.
- Imparting desired finishes to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Installing anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.
- Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete.
- Waterproofing, damp-proofing, and restoring concrete surfaces.
- Repairing, resurfacing, and replacing worn or damaged sections of floors, curb and gutter, walls, roads, and other concrete structures.
- Using rakes or shovels to spread concrete and other construction materials for padding or setting concrete and structures.
- Occasionally directing traffic by placing, removing, covering, and uncovering traffic control signs, cones, barricades, etc.
- Signaling operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
- Operating equipment such as pneumatic hammers, vibrators, tampers, and skid-steer as required.
Requirements
- Some English language proficiency.
- No formal education is required.
- At least 3 years of related experience.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- Fast-paced work environment.
- Physically demanding work.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Attention to detail.
- Overtime may be required.
Terms of Employment
- Wage: $32.00/hr & O/T Earn on average C$6000 + per month.
- Assistance with accommodation and airfare.
- Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
- Contract Duration: initial 3 months (potential for renewal).
- Hours: Full-time, 40 to 70 hours per week, Day, Morning, Weekend, Overtime.
- Visa not required for certain countries on the Canadian government list.
