About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team at Rock-it Concrete Ltd. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on our concrete projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement to achieve a smooth and even finish.
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and ensure it is properly set.
  • Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification to ensure a precise finish.
  • Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, such as trowels and floats.
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures to secure concrete structures.
  • Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces and protect them from the elements.
  • Waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces to ensure they are safe and durable.
  • Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures to maintain their integrity.
  • Tamp concrete using electric vibrators to ensure it is properly compacted.
  • Operate jackhammers and drills to break up pavement and prepare surfaces for new concrete.
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt to create a smooth and even surface.
  • Measure lumber to ensure specified thickness, length, and width for concrete forms and other structures.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades to facilitate concrete pouring and finishing.
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in concrete finishing and construction.
  • Physically demanding work environment, requiring standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and work at heights.
  • Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, and gloves required for safety and protection.
  • Accurate and flexible with a strong work ethic.
