Fraser Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, B.C. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing MRI examinations in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
Responsibilities- Conduct MRI examinations in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, ensuring accurate and efficient completion of requisitions and related paperwork.
- Monitor patient safety and well-being during procedures, responding promptly to any adverse reactions or emergencies.
- Operate computerized imaging equipment, including MRI machines, and maintain accurate records of examination results.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure high standards of patient care and imaging quality.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of current MRI technology and practices, staying up-to-date with industry developments and advancements.
- Provide education and training to staff members, medical residents, and students on MRI procedures and equipment operation.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
- Completion of Intravenous Therapy training course, as required by site practice.
- One (1) year recent, related experience in MRI or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level.
