About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at St. John's Fish Exchange Kitchen & Wet Bar. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Cost Control: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, and inventory to ensure optimal profitability.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with our culinary team to create new recipes and menus that showcase our seafood offerings.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train our kitchen staff to ensure they are equipped to provide exceptional service and food quality.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition and manage food and kitchen supplies to ensure seamless operations.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all dishes meet our high standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Working Conditions

  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
