Promotional Spend Analyst (6-month Contract)

The Promotional Spend Analyst will collaborate with the Trade Finance and Sales departments to ensure precise tracking and reporting of promotional expenditure and discrepancies within our existing legacy system. This role will assist the Pricing and Trade Spend Manager with month-end financial closing, reporting, and engaging with sales on promotional initiatives.

Contract Duration: 6-months, Full-Time, Monday to Friday, Day Shift

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (on-site 2 or 3 days a week)

Reports To: Pricing & Trade Spend Manager

Compensation: To Be Determined

Incentives: Yes

Location: Mississauga, ON

Travel Requirements: Occasionally

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Input and upload promotional spending details into our legacy system, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Proactively address and resolve program coding issues with the Trade Finance and Sales Teams.
  • Generate trade reports highlighting key metrics and develop new reports to emphasize additional relevant areas.
  • Maintain up-to-date contract documentation for promotional programs.
  • Align trade accruals with trade expenditures for significant annual promotions.
  • Assist in the testing and implementation of our new Trade System.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an office setting, preferably within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG).
  • Excellent communication skills, business insight, and sound judgment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt and remain flexible in a dynamic work environment.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while knowing when to seek guidance.
  • Proficient in current computer technologies, including MS Office Suite and MS Excel.
  • Experience with Power BI, SAP, and Cognos is a plus.
