Position Overview

As a Flooring Specialist at SINGH'S CONSTRUCTION LTD, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of various types of floor coverings. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces for flooring installation.
  • Measure, cut, and secure underlay and padding.
  • Develop flooring plans and manage scheduling.
  • Install carpeting on floors and walls.
  • Prepare and submit tenders and quotations.
  • Install resilient floor coverings and hardwood floors.
  • Conduct inspections and repairs on existing floor coverings.
  • Perform moisture, pH, temperature, and other necessary tests prior to installations.
  • Estimate costs and required materials for projects.
  • Prepare surfaces for new installations.
  • Remove old floor coverings and contaminants.
  • Utilize knee kickers and other tools for carpet stretching.
  • Execute direct glue-down and double-bond carpet installations.
  • Install outdoor carpets and resilient stair components.
  • Apply materials on countertops and raised platforms.
  • Install vinyl decking materials.
  • Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
Physical Requirements

The role requires:

  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination.

Experience

Applicants should have:

  • Experience ranging from 1 to less than 7 months in a similar role.
Employment Details

This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 30 to 35 hours per week. The primary working language is English.
