About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Pet Care Facility Manager at Diamond in the Ruff Pet Retreat.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and control daily operations of the kennel, ensuring the highest level of animal care and welfare.
  • Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Plan and organize daily operations, including staff scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for staff, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage contracts for advertising and marketing strategies to promote the facility and attract new clients.
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff, including kennel attendants and animal care specialists.
  • Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • May work in a team with shared supervisory responsibilities.
  • Supervise staff and ensure they are meeting the highest standards of animal care and customer service.
  • Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures to maintain a clean and safe environment for animals.
  • Work with a guard dog to ensure the safety and security of the facility and its occupants.
  • Perform animal grooming activities, including bathing, trimming, and nail care.
  • Monitor animal behavior and take steps to prevent stress and anxiety.
Requirements
  • 5 years or more of experience in a related field, such as animal care, kennel management, or a related field.
  • College or CEGEP diploma in a related field, such as animal science, biology, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting.
