About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pet Care Specialist to join our team at Diamond in the Ruff Pet Retreat. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to our furry friends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bathing and Grooming: Bathe and shampoo animals, ensuring they are clean and well-groomed.
  • Food and Nutrition: Prepare and serve food and feed animals according to their dietary needs.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Supervision and Training: Supervise and train helpers to ensure they are providing the best possible care for our animals.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications to animals as prescribed by veterinarians.
  • Supply Management: Maintain and order supplies to ensure we have everything needed to care for our animals.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Environment: Hot, outdoors, and wet/damp conditions.
  • Work Setting: Kennel and pet grooming shop.
  • Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, judgement, reliability, and team player.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
