Calgary Peterbilt, a prominent group of privately owned dealerships, is expanding its accounting team. We are seeking a meticulous and organized individual with a background in accounting to explore promising career opportunities with us.

We are in search of an Accounting Clerk who is eager to advance their career and excel in a vibrant, fast-paced setting. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role involves assisting in the management of the company's financial transactions. The ideal candidate will possess some accounting experience, exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a keen desire to learn within a dealership environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconciling financial accounts
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Data entry and journal entries
  • Recording and reconciling daily transactions for parts and services
  • Bank transaction reconciliation
  • Preparing bank deposits
  • Maintaining filing and record-keeping systems
  • Assisting with training events
  • Participating in the Safety Committee
  • Providing coverage for reception duties as needed
  • Performing additional accounting and administrative tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate variances
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with CDK or dealership management software is a plus
  • Well-organized with excellent time management abilities
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while valuing teamwork
  • Consistent ability to meet deadlines
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 annually
