Job Summary

The Coordinator - Indigenous Patient Site will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Indigenous Health Services program on site. This includes planning and coordinating health and human services affecting Indigenous patients, participating in Regional WRHA Indigenous Health Services Program activities, and performing other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the delivery of health and human services to Indigenous patients.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services for Indigenous patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, staff, and patients to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Participate in Regional WRHA Indigenous Health Services Program activities and contribute to the development of program policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director - Indigenous Health Services.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory/administrative experience working with the Indigenous community in a healthcare related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or relevant social science discipline.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of current and related software applications.
  • Knowledge of and working familiarity with services of government departments and agencies and organizations providing assistance to Indigenous people.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture.
  • Ability to interact well with other healthcare professionals, all levels of staff, and patients and families.
  • Demonstrated planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Mature, professional manner.
