Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Halifax. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our hotel and grounds.

Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs, and empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances and ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
  • Safety and Security: Perform safety and security checks, and clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced hotel environment with minimal supervision.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a maintenance or related role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
