About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at WSP Canada. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for buildings, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, control, communication, lighting, fire alarm, and security systems.
  • Perform technical calculations and software use for lighting analyses, load calculations, and power system design.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and be able to pivot quickly based on client/project manager requirements.
  • Capable of completing intermediate design tasks solo or with little direction from project manager.
  • Ensure the output of the design meets the established project criteria and all applicable standards.
  • Research and implement new technology designs as mandated by clients and the Electrical Engineering Manager.
  • Utilize industry-specific software and related technologies in design and analysis (AutoCAD, REVIT, etap, AGI).
  • Proficient with the Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code, IESNA Standards.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in consulting electrical design engineering for buildings.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office, electrical design software including REVIT.
  • LEED Accreditation and sustainable design experience are considered assets.
