Job Title: Community Outreach Coordinator

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and organized Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Community & Family Services department, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing outreach programs, including intake clients and community meal programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and implement outreach programs, including intake clients and community meal programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, agencies, and organizations.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers, ensuring they are trained and equipped to support outreach programs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of community outreach strategies and plans.
  • Provide support and guidance to clients, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and services.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including attendance records, volunteer hours, and program evaluations.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure a cohesive and effective outreach strategy.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary certificate program in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, including experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Valid Quebec Class 5 Driver's License and a reliable vehicle.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in a church or non-profit setting.
  • Knowledge of local resources for mental health and addiction services, housing, and income support.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
