Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in supporting the organization's strategic objectives and ensuring the effective management of our workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives to drive business results and improve employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and managers to provide guidance on HR-related matters, including employee relations, performance management, and labor relations.
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints and grievances in a fair and timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct workplace investigations to identify and address potential issues and concerns.
  • Support the onboarding process for new employees to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to promote the organization's interests and goals.
Requirements
  • University degree in social sciences, human resources, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a human resources generalist role.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable HR legislation and regulations.
  • Experience developing and maintaining processes to ensure efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Proficient with computer and Microsoft applications.
  • Labor relations experience an asset.

  • Demonstrated aptitude in problem solving.

  • Self-directed with an ability to work cooperatively with other managers, community partners, and to create a working climate that is positive and mutually supportive.
