Job Description

Arnett & Burgess Pipeliners is seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist to support our Construction Manager and project management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing project controls and related services throughout the project lifecycle, including engineering, design, construction, commissioning, and completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project controls support to the Construction Manager, functional leads, and project management team as required.
  • Liaise between project operations and corporate controls, organizing field processes to support project controls activities.
  • Gather information and submit project reports for internal review and distribution to stakeholders, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Establish and track project performance metrics.
  • Attend and participate in project and stakeholder meetings, documenting and distributing meeting minutes.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, coordinating schedule update reviews as required.
  • Track, manage, and analyze internal and external costs, including managing the company purchase order book.
  • Implement and support change management processes and systems.
  • Commit to continuously improving project control-related activities.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field of work.
  • PMP, CAPM, and/or CET certification is considered an asset.
  • 5-10 years of project-related experience in the oil and gas, pipeline construction, or infrastructure industries.
  • Experience managing project controls and related activities.
  • Ability to develop and manage spreadsheets, project schedules, and summary reports.
  • Aptitude for planning, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Experience in estimating oil & gas and/or pipeline construction projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead teams.
  • Attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Advanced user of scheduling software such as MS Project and Primavera.
Work Conditions
  • This role is primarily based out of the Blackfalds office, with the expectation that the candidate will work both in the office and on remote construction sites.
  • Leave of Absence will be provided when working on a field site.
  • Overtime as required.
