Job Overview

Paladin Security is a leading provider of security services, dedicated to making the world a safer and friendlier place. We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Security Officers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of assigned sites, including colleges and universities, hospitals and health clinics, mobile division, government buildings, and shopping centers.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras, respond to alarms, and provide first aid as needed.
  • Manage lost and found, write detailed incident reports, and interact with clients and the public to provide direction and promote customer service.
  • Respond to emergencies, take the lead role in incidents involving violent individuals, conduct arrests, enforce rules, and remove vagrants from the property.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A passion for being active, with the ability to stand and/or patrol for the majority of a shift (8-hours average).
  • Physical ability to perform duties in all weather conditions, including stairwells, uneven surfaces, and parkades.
  • Confidence interacting verbally with team members, client personnel, members of the public, and emergency services.
  • Some experience in security or customer service is an asset, but other relevant experience can still be beneficial.
  • A keen eye for watching and reporting irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations.
  • Basic skills in utilizing technology, including writing reports on a computer, tracking patrols in a smartphone, and communicating via two-way radio.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA2) certification.
  • Advanced Security Training (AST) certification.
  • Marine Transportation Security Clearance (MTSC) certification.

Compensation

Starting pay rate: $18/hour - $22/hour, depending on the site or program.
