About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at ABB. As a key member of our global team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our customers in the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for installation, commissioning, and maintenance of ABB equipment at mine sites.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities based on customer knowledge and collaboration across ABB.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer technical service requests to help them achieve their productivity and quality targets.
  • Consult with and advise customers on the best service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to eliminate root causes.
  • Prepare and present reports to customers for maintenance services with recommendations for product, quality, and customer service improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Sound knowledge of and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing of MV equipment.
  • Knowledge of servicing industrial equipment.
  • Strong software understanding.
  • Excellent mechanical skills.
  • Valid driver's license and passport required.
  • Availability for travel to customer sites.
  • Experience with installation and maintenance of industrial automation systems, including PLCs and/or DCS, would be an asset.
  • Excellent bilingual communication skills (French/English).
