As a Lead Project Engineer, you will oversee the execution, administrative, and technical components of project construction, guiding a team of field and cost engineers.

McNally Tunneling Corporation, a subsidiary of Weeks Marine Inc., is a prominent heavy/civil construction firm specializing in large diameter tunneling and underground construction.

Since its inception in 1988, McNally has successfully completed numerous projects across the United States, with project costs ranging from $350,000 to over $200 million.

This role requires mobility across various project sites.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams by establishing direction, expectations, and coordination with procurement and construction sectors.
  • Maintain comprehensive ownership of engineering execution to achieve project milestones and objectives.
  • Support project change management processes to ensure clarity in project scope, schedules, and budgets.
  • Develop project procedures aligned with contractual documents and quality plans for all engineering tasks; oversee engineering project controls, schedules, and budgets.
  • Act as the engineering representative in interactions with clients, constructors, subcontractors, and vendors during project engagements.
  • Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure adherence to engineering procedures.
  • Maintain continuous communication with project stakeholders, making necessary adjustments to meet project requirements while adhering to contractual obligations.
  • Ensure all deliverables align with industry codes and standards, adhering to best engineering practices.
  • Provide mentorship and training to mid-level and senior engineers and/or project engineers to foster professional development.
  • Utilize McNally's unique project controls environment alongside industry execution knowledge to manage engineering progress and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management from an accredited institution, preferably in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant field or project engineering experience, particularly in the transportation and tunneling sectors.
  • Proficient in computer software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Solid understanding of project controls terminology and scheduling processes.
  • A strong commitment to safety, ensuring a culture where no one gets harmed.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to focus on details while maintaining project objectives.
