About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead our project teams in delivering high-quality structural engineering designs and solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing project resources and schedules, ensuring timely completion of projects, and maintaining a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams in delivering structural engineering designs and solutions for a variety of projects, including new building design, renovations, assessments, and reports.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, work plans, and schedules to achieve high-quality work on time.
  • Prepare and review structural designs, calculations, analysis models, drawings, specifications, and reports, and coordinate with other disciplines and team members.
  • Visit sites for general review of structural work for new construction or for preparation of structural assessments of existing buildings.
  • Provide technical coaching and mentorship to junior team members, supporting their growth and development as structural engineers.
  • Support and maintain existing client relationships, and develop new relationships with clients and industry affiliates.
  • Travel within Canada occasionally for site assessments and site support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering, Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Licensed as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA or PEO.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in structural consulting, with experience leading design teams and a track-record of successfully delivering high-quality designs on budget.
  • Experience with design of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures, seismic design, and building codes.
  • Experience with structural design software (such as ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RISA, Revit).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills.
  • A strong network of contacts, including clients, especially in the private sector, is an asset.
