As a Lead Project Engineer, you will oversee the execution, administrative, and technical facets of project construction, leading a team of field and cost engineers.
Kiewit is a prominent heavy/civil construction firm specializing in large diameter tunneling and underground projects.
This role will require mobility across various project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams by fostering collaboration, establishing direction, and setting expectations.
- Maintain comprehensive ownership of engineering execution to achieve project milestones and objectives.
- Support project change management processes to ensure clarity in project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Establish project procedures in alignment with contractual documents and quality plans for all engineering tasks.
- Act as the engineering liaison with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Coordinate training and compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to engineering protocols.
- Maintain continuous communication with project stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to mid-level and senior engineers and/or project engineers.
- Utilize Kiewit's distinctive project controls environment along with industry execution expertise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, preferably in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant field or project engineering experience, particularly in the transportation and tunneling sectors.
- Proficient in the use of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with project controls terminology and project scheduling processes.
- Ability to work during standard operating hours and availability for overtime as needed.
