About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Success Coach to join our team at Chinook's Edge School Division. As a key member of our mental health promotion and prevention team, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering evidence-based social emotional learning and mental health programming to children, youth, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate mental health programming to elementary and middle school students
  • Work collaboratively with school staff, community agencies, and healthcare providers to promote mental health and well-being
  • Provide individual and group support to students, families, and communities
  • Conduct research and implement evidence-based strategies to increase mental health and reduce stigma of mental illness in K-12 schools
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members, school staff, and healthcare providers
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement mental health initiatives and programs
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a health or human services field
  • At least 2 years of experience working in addiction and mental health or a related field
  • Familiarity with the developmental, educational, emotional, social, and recreational needs of children, youth, and families
  • Ability to research and implement evidence-based strategies to increase mental health and reduce stigma of mental illness in K-12 schools
  • Experience with delivering programming and facilitating classroom programming from Kindergarten to High School grade levels
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Solid comprehension and practice of personal and professional boundaries
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships with young people
  • Creative problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Comfortable liaising with community members, school staff, community agencies, and healthcare providers
  • Knowledge of the local community and resources available
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office programs and working knowledge of social media
