Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess emergency scenes and patients to determine the best course of treatment
  • Administer medications and provide advanced life support to patients
  • Transport patients to medical facilities using ambulances or other modes of transportation
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Ensure that ambulances and other EMS vehicles are properly stocked and equipped

Requirements:

  • Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics as an Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider certification
  • Valid class 4 Alberta Operator License or equivalent
  • Five-year driver abstract with no more than six demerits
  • Successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation

Working Conditions:

As an Advanced Care Paramedic, you will work in a demanding environment that requires physical stamina and mental focus. You will be exposed to various weather conditions, hazardous scenes, and graphic content. You must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment, stand and sit for extended periods, and work in confined spaces.
