Job Summary

As an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) with Alberta Health Services EMS, you will play a critical role in providing emergency medical care to patients in need. This includes assessing emergency scenes, treating patients, and transporting them to medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess emergency scenes and patients to determine the level of care required
  • Administer medications and provide advanced life support (ALS) care as needed
  • Transport patients to medical facilities using ambulances or other modes of transportation
  • Lead ALS crews in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes
  • Ensure that ambulances or other EMS vehicles are properly stocked and equipped
Requirements
  • Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Valid class 4 Alberta Operator License or equivalent
  • Five (5) year driver abstract current within six (6) months with no more than six (6) demerits
  • Proof of successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current certification in ACLS, PALS, NRP, ATLS/ITLS, and additional, related post-secondary program completion
