Business Analyst Job Description

GS1 Canada is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in translating and documenting GS1 solutions offerings, consolidating data and information from throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Mapping and Analysis: Conduct process and systems mapping from an external and internal perspective, identifying areas for improvement and recommending process optimization.
  • Documenting Business Processes: Document business processes and rules in a user-friendly perspective, identifying gaps and recommending process improvements.
  • Data Flow Mapping: Own capturing data flow mapping across various business and system processes, interpreting value offerings and validations.
  • Information Management: Collect, organize, and maintain information from various sources throughout the organization, delivering regular status updates on project assignments.
  • System and Technology Interpretation: Interpret system and technology processes, documenting findings and developing reports to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Industry Research: Conduct industry research, communicating findings to leadership and acting as a conduit between the Business Data and Architecture team and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or Engineering.
  • Experience: 3-6 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in developing and presenting reports.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and deduction skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and present findings in a professional manner.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint and Word.
  • Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of Retail and/or Manufacturing industry, as well as supply chain technologies and emerging trends.
