Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join our team at the BC Cancer Agency in Prince George, BC.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the clinical team, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, and ensuring seamless communication between healthcare providers and patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Manage and maintain accurate patient records, including demographic and medical information
- Coordinate appointments, tests, and procedures for patients
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and families
- Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, mail distribution, and filing
- Assist with research documents and grant applications as required
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure efficient and effective care delivery
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Grade 12 graduation from a recognized secretarial program, including a recognized course in medical transcription
- Three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to keyboard at 50 wpm
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
