Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join our team at the BC Cancer Agency. As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to our clinical team, ensuring the smooth operation of our office.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to the clinical team, including scheduling appointments, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
- Coordinate meetings, conferences, and logistics, preparing agendas, minutes, and other materials as required.
- Manage mail, screen calls, and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient workflow.
- Assist with research documents, grant applications, and other projects as needed.
Requirements
- Grade 12, graduation from a recognized secretarial program, including a recognized course in medical transcription, and three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to keyboard at 50 wpm, communicate effectively, and deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
