Job Title: Chef de Cuisine

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chef de Cuisine to join our team at Le Moulin de Provence Inc. in a permanent position.

Job Description:Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze operating costs and other data to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff.
  • Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
  • Create new recipes and menus to ensure food quality and variety.
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain inventory levels.
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in a similar role.
  • Cook Trade Certification and Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) designation.
  • Safe Food Handling certificate and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Work Environment:
  • Noisy and hot kitchen environment.
  • Standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and bending.
Language:

English or French.
