The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic team player and critical thinker to join our Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) department in Saskatoon as a Compliance and Licensing Specialist. In this role, you will coordinate the consistent delivery of required training for Emergency Response Team (ERT) members, establish and maintain processes for fire protection, emergency response, and mine rescue programs, and provide oversight and coordination of 3rd party assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate training for ERT members, including industrial fire brigades, wildland firefighting, and mine rescue.
  • Establish and maintain standardized processes for fire protection, emergency response, and mine rescue programs.
  • Provide oversight and coordination of 3rd party assessments for fire protection, ERT, and mine rescue.
  • Develop and maintain training and procedures for Emergency Response, Mine Rescue, and Fire Protection programs.

Requirements

  • Technical Rescue Certification (NFPA 1006)
  • Hazardous Materials Certification (NFPA 1072)
  • Industrial Firefighting Certifications (NFPA 1081)
  • Medical First Responder Certificate
  • 8 years of extensive knowledge of fire protection, industrial firefighting, mine rescue, and wildland firefighting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fire Service Instructor Certification (NFPA 1041)
  • Mine Rescue Certificate
